Assistant Prof. Victoria Rotter Sopasakis at the Wallenberg Laboratory, Institution of Medicine at Sahlgrenska Academy, University of Gothenburg. Dr. Rotter Sopasakis’ has a background in the field of type 2 diabetes and related metabolic and obesity-associated conditions, particularly the impact of chronic, low grade inflammation on insulin signaling and action in adipose tissue during her PhD studies. Dr Rotter Sopasakis did her post doc studies in Ronald Kahn’s group at Joslin Diabetes Center, Harvard Medical School. Her research is focused on underlying mechanisms for the association type 2 diabetes and cancer. Her prime interests are glucose homeostasis, insulin signaling and action, liver function as well as changes in pathways associated with cellular metabolism tumorigenesis, using both transgenic mouse models as well as human tissue.
